Geek Mafia: Mile Zero Slight Delays All Around
Nothing ever goes as planned, but this time, the delays are actually good ones (mostly) rather than bad ones.
So, I was all set to launch Geek Mafia: Mile Zero this week and then I got a call from someone. I can't reveal the specific details just quite yet, but the gist of it is that a publisher has decided to pick up the Geek Mafia series from me which is, make no mistake, great news for me. I'm particularly excited because I've already got a good relationship with these fine folks (to be named to you the public at a later date) and they are big fans of the Geek Mafia series.
The biggest change is that we're reformatting the new book back from it's double column pulp format that I was going to release it in to a more traditional paperback size. Austin is slaving away at that time-consuming task even as I write this (yay Austin!). The new publishers are also going to re-issue the original Geek Mafia in a text that will hopefully be bereft of all those foul typos that sullied the original printing of the book, something I'm equally excited about.
The end result is that Geek Mafia: Mile Zero will not be out until October sometime, which is really only two months away. I know that kinda sucks, but trust me, on balance it's a much better thing indeed. It gives me more time to write (and I've got lots of books coming down the pipe towards your eyes), and extra support and exposure for Geek Mafia in general.
However, probably starting next month I'll post up some teaser chapters for those of you who like to be teased, and if things go as planned the book should be available in some way come early-mid October.

I read Geek Mafia off at http://manybooks.net/ and I noticed that there were two mistakes in the book (which is awesome, great read).
The part at around chapter 25 where a character (Greg I think) mentions the name Greg but it should be Paul.
I also think there was a grammar mistake somewhere in chapter 15 or something but I completely forgot where.
I was just wondering if you'd fixed those? If not I could find them again and point you to the exact places if you'd like.

Wow! Congradulations, Rick. That's the coolest thing yet. Do you also get to continue the series? You know I'm hoping to make a cameo in a Geek Mafia novel with some real life exploit.
