News and Notes
Well, the me underground challenge continues and I'm down 1 to 0 after this past weekend, but I've got new and more exciting plans to keep myself hidden away. So wish me luck and all that.
In the meantime, work continues apace on bringing the new Geek Mafia book to print. I've got a brand new and much more professional copy editor slaving away on the text even now and he should be done by the end of the week. Then we'll go into layout and cover design and all that fun stuff, and hopefully we'll have it ready to go and into your hands within maybe six weeks or so if we're lucky. Not that we usually are, so it might be longer. Anyway, I'm really pleased with how it's shaping up and hope everyone like it. It's a fun book - a lot like the first one and yet also different in many ways. Everyone who's read both likes it, but there's about an even split between those who think the first one is better and those who prefer the new one. I think that's just about where I want to be.
I've got another pulp review coming up later this week, and in general I've thrown myself head first into the world of early 20th century pulp fiction and I'm loving it. It's really inspiring in many different ways and I really feel carving a niche out for myself in the modern era that echoes some of the things I love most about the pulps (while improving on or ignoring those things I don't love), is where I want to be. If the publication scheme I've got planned for the new Geek Mafia book works out like I think it will, I'll be in a position to really sit down and push out a serious of great, fun, and I like to think unusual and interesting stories in relatively rapid succession each year. I'm not planning on reaching Walter Gibson's two Shadow novels a month publication rate, but I definitely want to shift things into a higher gear. The technology is there for it, so I'm all about diving right in and seeing if I can make it work for me.
So, stay tuned here for more Geek Mafia news soon...

If you run across a copy of A.Merritt's "Burn, Witch, Burn" and "Creep, Shadow, Creep" I'd be much obliged if you could forward them my way! - m

Wicked, i am going to get a copy of that for sure. Thanks for drawing my attention to it, I love pulp stuff like this so looking forward to the rest of reviews and to reading Geek Mafia as well.
You should post some or all of this review on Amazon as there are no reviews for this book there that I can see (didn't look hard mind you). if you paste your reviews into amazon you can draw people into your realm and hopefully to buy your books...
