Bachelor Party

Well, It's 3:24 and I'm just getting back from my friend Jeff's bachelor party. I'd love to tell you about it, but sadly I can't. We all signed non-disclosure agreements. No really, we did. I will however say that amongst the many topics of discussion were Plato, Greek Poets and trim. Now I've said too much...please, ignore that last bit. I could get in real trouble for that. Legal trouble. Ok no, not really.

Piracy

So I've been working on putting together a Pirate Costume for Halloween. I've got all the basics now, including the eye-patch. Sadly, it's a kinda cheesey plastic thing, but I couldn't find a leather one online anywhere. I finally found an affordable cutlass that is both in stock and cool looking. There are so many goofy looking pirate swords out there and the cool ones were all out of stock. The only thing I'm lacking is footwear and I think I'm just going to have to do without and go barefoot. I'm cool with that though. The important thing is that I can now, whenever I want, dress up like a pirate, for any occasion. This is a good thing. Trust me.

Kill Bill

kill_bill_ver3.jpg Kill Bill was so very, very cool. So much blood. So much violence. Now, I'm not one who thinks that lots of gore and lots of violence automatically make a good movie. Quite the opposite really. But this movie is just so cool...chock full of style and attitude rather than, well, deep plot or even substance. But most importantly, it is exactly what it's trying to be.

Talking Points Memo

Talking Points Memo is my favorite political blog out there. Josh Marshall is always insightful and level headed and sees straight through most of the crap. Check him out every day and you'll be a better person.

Back Again, Again

Here I am, back again. Ok, it's been quite a while, but there was this long period where I couldn't access the site and my Web guru was in Guatemala, doing good for the sake of doing good, so I can't begrudge him much. So, what's been going on? Well, I've been reading Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson, which is a little slow going but still quite interesting. Plus, according to the man himself, he wrote it long hand, maybe with a quill. Wow. I kinda wanna try that, but I don't want to do all that re-typing. I'm lazy like that (among other ways). I also saw Kill Bill, which I enjoyed the hell out of. Total style over substance. Madcap, fountains of blood violence. It made me want to buy another sword. Of course I just bought a sword - a cutlass to go with my Halloween costume. A pirate of course. What else?

Back Again

I'd like to point out, for the record, that Monster House is a cool show, and that if indeed I owned my own house, I would invite them to turn it into a Pirate House because, as stated previously, pirates do indeed rule.

Still figuring it all out...

So, i'm still working on figuring out just exactly what I'm going to use this site for. Well, my resume's up here, but i'm not really looking for work right now. I do need to put some samples of said work up, but I'll get around to that later. For now, why don't we go with a timely link to one of my favorite online pundits: talking points memo is where it's at...
